Green GEN Cymru Appoints New CEO in a Strategic Leadership Change
Stuart will lead the IDNO-licensed company alongside Managing Director Daryn Lucas as it enters a critical period of expansion and strategic development.
This appointment marks a significant step forward for Green GEN Cymru, building on the momentum gained since its first statutory consultation on the Vyrnwy Frankton project earlier this year.
Commenting on his appointment, Stuart George said: “It is an honour to lead Green GEN Cymru. Since securing its IDNO license last year, the business is now positioned to deliver on its mission to develop a robust and reliable distribution network.
“Without timely grid upgrades, Wales will not meet its renewable energy targets or unlock the rural jobs, business opportunities and decarbonisation benefits that come with them.
“With a substantial pipeline of grid infrastructure across three main lines, Green GEN Cymru’s portfolio will help Wales meet its 2035 target and play a pivotal role in the UK meeting Clean Power 2030 targets and beyond.
“I look forward to leading an experienced and highly capable team as we navigate a complex and rapidly evolving energy landscape.”
Stuart joins Green GEN Cymru as CEO and Board member after seven years as Managing Director of Bute Energy.
