Our early proposals for a new wood pole electricity connection.
We are developing a new 132kV electricity connection to link the Garreg Fawr Energy Park located approximately 9km north-west of Brecon and 15km south-west of Builth Wells in Powys, to the proposed Towy Usk distribution network.
The new Garreg Fawr connection is an important step toward building a stronger, more resilient electricity distribution network for Wales. It will provide the essential infrastructure needed to deliver renewable energy from the energy park to homes and businesses. In doing so, it will support Wales’ efforts to decarbonise its energy system, gain energy independence and help enable the broader rollout of electric vehicles and low-carbon heating – contributing to a cleaner, more resilient energy future for everyone.
