OUR PROPOSALS

We are bringing forward proposals for a new 132kV (132,000-volt) overhead line, supported on wood poles, to distribute clean, renewable energy from Garreg Fawr Energy Park in Powys, to connect to the proposed Towy Usk connection.

The Garreg Fawr connection is a new project – we’re just getting started and are looking forward to developing the route.

This is a new distribution connection project, currently in the early stages of development. We are working with specialist consultants to assess potential route options for connecting the energy park from a northern point to the proposed Towy Usk distribution network using wood poles.

We do not yet have any route options or connection points to share on a map, as this routeing work is ongoing, alongside initial environmental and technical assessments.

The indicative map provided below is intended to provide local context, showing the Garreg Fawr Energy Park boundary map, in relation to the surrounding area and the proposed Towy Usk distribution network.

We’re still at the early stages of this project, but we want to give you the opportunity to learn about our plans to construct a new wood pole connection ahead of the non-statutory consultation, which is expected to take place in early 2026.
