Green GEN Cymru Showcases Career Opportunities at Darogan Wales Event

Green GEN Cymru was proud to take part in this week’s ‘Green Careers in Wales’ evening hosted by Darogan Wales, where we joined students, professionals and future energy leaders to talk about the exciting opportunities emerging across Wales’s growing green economy.

Held at Hodge House in Cardiff, the event brought together voices from across the sustainability and clean energy sectors, offering career insights, industry connections and real-world examples of how people are making the transition into green roles.

“It was fantastic to speak to so many people interested in building a career with purpose,” said Fiona Morrison Head of Regulation and Compliance.
“From engineering to engagement, and planning to policy, no matter the skillset, there’s no shortage of opportunity — and Wales is right at the heart of it. We’re building the infrastructure to power the future — and that means we need passionate, skilled people in every corner of Wales to help deliver it.”

As Wales’s largest independent distribution network operator, Green GEN Cymru is currently investing £1 billion in grid infrastructure. Team members shared their own varied career journeys and insights into what it’s like working in one of the UK’s most dynamic and fast-growing sectors.
