Green GEN Cymru launches ‘Grid Sessions’ podcast series

GGC has launched Grid Sessions, a new podcast series created to open up the conversations around one of Wales’ biggest challenges — the electricity grid — and to showcase the people working every day to strengthen it.

The series is primarily led by Green GEN Cymru colleagues from across the business, bringing together in-house expertise spanning engineering, infrastructure delivery, planning and policy. Alongside these internal voices, Grid Sessions will also feature occasional external experts to add broader industry perspective and challenge thinking where it matters most.

Through honest, accessible discussion, the podcast aims to help audiences better understand why grid capacity has become such a critical issue, what is holding progress back, and what must change to unlock Wales’ clean energy potential. Crucially, it also highlights the depth of expertise already in place to tackle these challenges head-on.

The launch episode focuses on women in engineering, featuring senior technical leaders from within Green GEN Cymru. The conversation explores career journeys, leadership, and the real-world complexities of delivering energy infrastructure, while reinforcing the importance of diverse voices in shaping a resilient, future-ready grid.

Grid Sessions reflects Green GEN Cymru’s long-term commitment to building more than infrastructure. By sharing knowledge, experience and insight, the series supports greater transparency, encourages understanding, and contributes to a lasting legacy — a stronger grid, skilled people, and an energy system that works for Wales and its communities.

New episodes of Grid Sessions will be released monthly and will be available across major podcast platforms, with highlights shared through Green GEN Cymru’s digital channels.
